JUNE YOKELL

“This past year I’ve continued working with landscapes done in oil, that embody the natural beauty of whatever happens to pique my attention, such as looking through a mass of branches of a large oak or being taken by the early morning sky as I leave my home early in the morning to get to my studio, as well as exploring new ways of working. For the past few years I’ve been enjoying teaching drawing and painting as a Community Education instructor at College of Marin. I’ve taken the opportunity of using the assignments that I have given to my students as an assignment for myself and have found myself exploring not only new materials, e.g., ink, mixed media and acrylic, but wandering out into my own personal landscapes that reveal the past in the present.”
